Where this came from.
I spent 15+ years as a cloud and platform engineer building the systems that move real money for Fortune 500 banks, card networks, and insurers. The kind of systems where a mistake has a price tag and "it broke" isn't an acceptable answer.
I started taking on automation consulting clients around 2023, and the same pattern showed up almost immediately: businesses that wanted to use AI, but kept getting generic results because their data lived in a dozen tools that didn't talk to each other. So that became the work. Fix the boring fundamentals underneath (connected tools, clean data, automations that don't break) and everything else gets dramatically easier.
I've now done this with 10+ businesses across e-commerce, staffing, insurance, publishing, etc. Household names, mostly in smaller industries. It's not sexy work, but it's the foundation every other automation and AI use case gets built on, and it's why clients stick around.
